Overview

André Lemos is an associate in the Rio de Janeiro office of Tauil & Chequer Advogados in association with Mayer Brown. He is a member of the Corporate and M&A practice. He focuses his practice on advising, national and foreign, companies in the drafting, analysis and negotiation of agreements related to the exploration and production of oil and natural gas, in corporate and regulatory issues, as well as in Bid Rounds promoted by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels - ANP.

André has also experience in the development of renewable energy projects, advising companies in regulatory matters and in the drafting, analysis and negotiation of agreements related to the commercialization and exportingation of biofuels.

Experience

  • Represented a Chinese national oil company in connection with the qualification process to the 1st Pre-Salt Round promoted by ANP. The company was a member of the winning consortium, which paid a BRL$ 15 billion signing bonus (aprox. US$ 6.4 billion).
  • Represented a national oil company from Thailand in acquisition of a 20% participating interest in a concession located in the deepwater offshore of Espírito Santo Basin.
  • Represented a major Brazilian investment bank in the acquisition of an Brazilian independent company, who held 30% in the BTPN-4, BT-PN-5, BT-PN-6, BT-PN-7, BT-PN-8, BT-PN-9 and BT-PN-10 concession contracts (Parnaíba Basin).
  • Represented a major German energy company in connection with the qualification process to the Brazil Round 12 promoted by ANP.
  • Represented a Colombian national oil company in connection with the qualification process to the 1st Pre-Salt Round promoted by ANP.
  • Represented a Colombian national oil company in connection with the qualification process to the Brazil Round 11 promoted by ANP.
  • Represented a Colombian national oil company in the acquisition of a 30% participating interest in 3 blocks located in Santos Basin.
  • Represented a major Spanish petrochemical group in connection with the qualification process to the Brazil Round 11 promoted by ANP.
  • Represented a Brazilian investment company in the take over of control of a Brazilian independent company, who operated holding 70% participating interest in blocks located in the Parnaíba Basin.
